Fall River city councilor, business owner, adding two new eateries to his portfolio, here’s what changes are coming
A Fall River politician and business owner is increasing his restaurant footprint on the South Coast.
According to city councilor, real estate broker, and owner of Al Mac’s Diner and Al Mac’s On-the-Go, Cliff Ponte Jr, he has an agreement to purchase two New York Bagel Company locations with Fall River Firefighter Kyle Lima.
Kyle’s wife Dawn Lima will be the General Manager of both locations at 1572 President Avenue in Fall River and 272 State Road in North Dartmouth. She will run day to day operations. Ponte stated that she has a decade of experience running larger coffee shops.
New York Bagel Company features sandwiches, breads, pastries, salads and freshly baked bagels.
Ponte touched on his plans for the two spots and beyond.
“We have a lot of work left to get this to the finish line, but we plan to build on the legacy of over 35 years. We intend to add some different coffee options, increase bakery items but most importantly we will NOT be changing anything about the bagels — we actually hope to add additional locations and expand our bagels in different bakeries and shops all across the South Coast.”
Ponte will appear at the Fall River Licensing Board meeting on February 21st where he will be seeking a Common Victuallers License for the Fall River location.
