Fall River City Council to hold citizens input, special meeting concerning litigation against Mayor Correia
The Fall River City Council plans to review their litigation tonight against Mayor Jasiel Correia.
The meeting, which is planned to take place in Executive Session in City Council Chamber, is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. tonight with citizens input.
The council voted 8-1 to remove the mayor temporarily from office due to the charges against him. In response, the mayor has not stepped down, causing the litigation against him. A judge is expected to make a decision soon after the hearing last week.
A Committee on Economic Development and Tourism meeting is scheduled to begin all proceedings this evening at 5:15 p.m. and a regular City Council meeting is scheduled to follow the special meeting at 7:00 p.m.
