Fall River business closing as owner leaving the United States, no longer feels comfortable here
A Fall River business will soon be no more after the owner has decided to leave the United States.
New Age Taekwondo Fall River on Pond Street is soon closing their doors according to owner, founder, and instructor, Hugo Azevedo.
The martial arts school, founded in 2018, has been teaching taekwondo, boxing, muay thai, traditional weapons, sparring, poomsae forms, flexibility, and character development lessons to children, teens, and adults.
Azevedo states that he is moving to Eastern Europe due to what is currently taking place in the U.S.
“I just don’t like the environment in the US. The traditional values are all gone, and everything is super complicated here. I don’t feel comfortable living here.”
Master Hugo has been practicing martial arts since 2007, and teaching since 2015. He has enjoyed teaching children both at his location and in public schools.
According to Azevedo, students have belt graduation at the end of May and then New Age will close for good.

Do your kids even go to this school , have you spent your hard earned money on this school NOT SNAP BENEFITS FOR ALL YOU WELFARE RECIPIENTS . Acevedo was a role model to all of our kids more than we can say for all you drug addicted methadone clinical parents. My child looked up to Acevedo and looked forward to all classes and being taught a skill to help with certain attributes that would make my child s’more focused. Taekwondo wasn’t just about hitting it was about self awareness, control, obedience, self determination and the skill to help those in need. Yes all the life skill we teach our children but from a different perspective so for those people that have not been to a class , or don’t even have children or maybe haven’t seen your kids because you to busy working on your sobriety STFU you want out Hugo THEN LEAVE ! America isn’t for the weak hearted anyway this country was built from sweat and hard labor from all races that gave a damm. So take your ass wherever the hell you wanna go DONT COME BACK ! Land of opportunity and made plenty of that $$$$ green opportunity. On May 11, Title 42 ends…that means the 40,000 waiting on the Juarez side of the border will be allowed in…Open border has allowed in over 5 million, why? Well let’s talk about all the children that he has left disappointment. He teaches in that school. I am a winner never give up look what he’s doing for someone making a lot of money in this country. Not sure why he wants to leave but maybe INS (Ice ) should pay him a visit ? It could be the fact that he is here illegally it could be the fact that he owes the IRS $14,000 so I’m not sure Master Hugo‘ is wrong for what he’s doing and let’s talk about his views on women are. He thinks women should not have political power. He thinks women should not speak. He thinks women should not have any kind of role of being in control. He’s very old-fashioned in the way that it’s almost Nazi behavior. He’s also made the comments that he wants to open up the school just for white people, so I’m not sure what his problem is but he has hurt the traditional values of these children that he has put in them for years of his teaching, these kids have no place to go. No school is going to honor their belts for the parents that are going to continue on. We have to start all over from 0 that’s thousands of dollars again that will have to give Money is not the concern here. Yes it’ll be great for him to say here’s some money back or I owe you some money but our kids have been a banded by him. What about that?

Nations in Eastern Europe don’t enjoy the same freedoms which we do, and that’s probably a good thing. They don’t extend freedom to the mentally ill and drug addicts. They lock them up, so that they are properly cared for and society is safe from their outrages. They also don’t allow parents and schools to sexually mutilate children in the pursuit of attention. Extending freedoms to those incapable of enjoying them is neglect. It is shirking our responsibilities to others. We worry about everyone’s rights here, yet we do nothing to guarantee the right to decent nutritional foods or decent affordable places to live. People leave Massachusetts every day for other states. We should be doing something about that, rather than encouraging our friends and neighbours, our children’s playmates to leave.

Students of martial arts are often tested. The various belts and degrees have certain mutual standards. If students have been properly trained they will be allowed to retain their standings. Nobody will have to start over.

All these comments on America or Europe in which is better….the fact is as a parent who sat in the class and watched the students listen to a teacher and respect him on his beliefs of “never give up and fight for this “ and to have him out of nowhere just give the school up mind you without warning until a parent brought it up to him on finding the article is unprofessional…it’s not about which country is better it all comes down to the kids from ages 4-15 who looked up to man that just let them all down after putting in so much hard work and listening to him repeatedly telling to never give up and Taekwondo is for winners not quitters…a lot of students were close to achieving there final belts and now will have to start over…and no it doesn’t matter your skill level most schools now won’t honor the belt system of another school due to they want there money dues as well … just very frustrated and disappointed to see these kids who worked hard be let down

In the late 60s my older sisters were going to college in Boston on their visites back home my father notice a change in them.My father used to say their being influenced by those Marxist professors at the time I was 12 or 13 yrs old ,I thought that’s a crazy thing to say now I understand what he meant.
