Two important updates were revealed at a City of Fall River meeting that took place on Monday afternoon.

Farm Market on 223 Durfee Street went in front of the Fall River Board of Health concerning a second tobacco violation.

A complaint had been received that they were selling flavored vapes so on July 17th a surprise inspection was conducted and a mixture of flavored vapes were located.

A cease and desist was issued with a mandated $2,000 fine. The Board approved a 7-day suspension

The previous violation was a sale to a minor in November.

Ownership, who took over last summer, argued that the inventory was from the previous owner.

Also at Monday’s meeting, Paul Ferland, Fall River’s Administrator of Community Utilities, revealed that after about 5 years, the City will resume water fluoridation as they have a manufacturer that has begun producing the type of product needed. A small sample was received, and it worked. A test run should be taking place in the next couple of months.
