Fall River bakery set to open first brick and mortar location
What was initially a Fall River business run off of Facebook, will now have a brick and mortar location.
Malinda Neves, owner of SevenEves Sweet Shop & More, has announced that they will be opening a location at the former Duke’s Bakery.
Neves states that 162 Columbia Street will be opening its doors on June 5th.
SevenEves is a local Fall River bakery with both unique and classic treats. Among their many bakery treats are cakes for all occasions, gourmet chocolate dipped fruit, and edible party favors.
SevenEves is no stranger to the Fall River area as the venture first started as a hobby for Neves, beginning approximately 10 years ago, and eventually landing on Facebook.
“My life was in a terrible place. I got very sick and I had to be in the hospital and when I got out of the hospital I decided that I needed a hobby to get myself busy, get my mind straight and get my life on track.”
Neves’ father bought her the equipment she needed and she started out baking for friends. That small start has turned into a popular business with a soon to be physical location.
The bakery will also feature a “How Sweet It Is To Be Fed By You” wall. The wall’s purpose is to help feed those who are struggling or homeless. How it works is you take a ticket from the wall and you can redeem what the ticket says such as a free sandwich or muffin. A ticket can be redeemed once per day.
SevenEves hours of operation will be Wednesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
The shop is also looking for a part time cake decorator anywhere from 20-25 hours a week with a pay of $15 an hour. You can send a resume, contact information and portfolio of previous designed work to Sevenevesfr@gmail.com
Neves is nervous, but ready for the challenge.
Area residents are ready to eat her results.
