Fall River artist gives residents another reason to stop by Miss Lizzie’s Coffee
A local artist has created a unique piece inside a popular Fall River storefront.
William Silvia recently completed a Lizzie Borden mural for Miss Lizzie’s Coffee at 242 Second Street, “The most haunted coffee shop in the world”.
The mural was composed by Silvia using authentic news articles digitized from the city’s archives, bringing a tall contemporary style portrait of Lizzie to life.
Silvia stated that he finally had some time to create the masterpiece.
“As a former Fall River Police Officer, I would routinely be on the lookout for new places to create murals and revitalize the blank city walls. During those years, I unfortunately didn’t have much time to produce works.”
Silvia, who is currently in the National Guard, has his eyes set on a bigger project he hopes to begin as early as this summer.
“I intend to recreate this mural on a larger scale elsewhere in the city pending approval from municipal stakeholders now that slightly more time exists.”
Silvia’s work gives us one more reason to stop by at Miss Lizzie’s for some coffee.
