A local man is facing some disturbing charges.

According to Fayette County District Attorney’s Office – District Attorney Mike Aubele, on April 15, 2026, his office was made aware of numerous threats being made from a phone number originating in Massachusetts to a woman in Masontown Borough, Pennsylvania.

This individual located the victim through a site known as Clapper, where she was posting legal content; the communications included multiple threats to rape the woman and her young child. Chief Thomas O’Barto of Masontown PD investigated this matter and was able to trace the contact number to Joshua Dargon of Wareham, and Fall River, Massachusetts; Dargon is a registered sexual offender in that jurisdiction.

Charges were filed against Dargon including Criminal Use of a Communication Facility; Obscene Use of a Communication Facility; Terroristic Threats; Stalking; and Harassment.

Dargon was apprehended on these charges by the Wareham Police Department and was extradited Friday July 17th to Fayette County where he was held without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 28th.

Dargon is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
