Fall River 18-year-old charged for 3rd time in 2 months; facing new drug and weapon charges
A traffic stop leads to two under arrest and the recovery of firearms, a knife, and crack.
According to Boston Police, at just before 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) conducted a traffic stop which led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two loaded firearms, ammunition, drugs and a knife in the area of 653 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.
While on patrol in the area of Columbia Road, officers conducted a query of a motor vehicle which had no inspection sticker. Officers initiated the traffic stop in the area of the aforementioned location on Blue Hill Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle, the front passenger concealed his face with a balaclava mask while guarding a black fanny pack with his left arm and staring straight ahead, avoiding eye contact with officers. The four occupants were removed from the vehicle.
Inside of the fanny pack that the front passenger was guarding, officers located a large hunting knife.
In the rear of the vehicle on the driver’s side, officers located a second fanny pack which contained a firearm. A 16-year-old juvenile female was taken into custody. The firearm was determined to be a ghost gun loaded with eighteen rounds of live ammunition. A plastic bag containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine was also inside of the fanny pack in which the firearm was recovered.
Additionally, a second female passenger was found to be in the possession of a firearm when she was removed from the vehicle. The firearm was located inside of the suspect’s undergarments. The second suspect was also taken into custody. During the booking process, officers recovered two plastic bags containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine inside of the suspect’s socks. The firearm was determined to be a Smith and Wesson SD40VE firearm loaded with eleven rounds of live ammunition.
Officers arrested a 16-year-old female suspect of Taunton and Jacqueline Rose Botelho, 18-years-old, of Fall River. The 16-year-old is charged with Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Possession of Class B Drugs.
Botelho is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Possession of Class B Drugs. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The front passenger was issued a summons to appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Class D Drugs.
Botelho was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, and according to court records, has two other active cases in Fall River for Assault & Battery on 60+ or Disabled in March, and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon this month. She was released on personal recognizance in the two previous cases.
