Due to Fall River’s spike in COVID-19 cases, Charlton Memorial Hospital tightens visitation policy
Due to a high prevalence of COVID-19 in the Fall River community, no visitors will be allowed inside Charlton Memorial Hospital as of October 30th, with only the following exceptions:
Hospital Inpatients — NO visitors Exceptions are:
• End of Life
• Maternity Deliveries
• Parents/Guardians of patients under the age of 18 years old
• Attorneys or legal representatives of patients
• Patients with intellectual and/or physical disabilities
Surgical Patients and Same Day Surgery Center
Companion allowed for required transportation and/or 1 visitor to inpatient unit immediately following surgery (visitor must go through Main Entrance)
Physician Offices, Imaging, Radiology, Laboratory Patient Service Center
No visitor/companion unless required for clinical care
Emergency Department
No visitors except a guardian or essential companion as determined by the care team
Patient/ Exam Room and Waiting Area
Limited access to Gift Shop, NO access to cafeteria or other areas except Pharmacy
No visitors experiencing cough, shortness of breath, temperature over 100 degrees or other symptoms consistent with COVID-19 will be allowed and no seminars, classes, or gatherings are to take place.
Southcoast Health states that the new policy is an effort to keep patients, staff, and providers safe.
