Driver taken to the hospital after car goes though garage in southeastern Massachusetts
A driver in southeastern Massachusetts was injured on Friday after accidently driving through the home’s garage.
According to Fire Chief Joe Maruca, the West Barnstable Fire Department was called for a motor vehicle crash at about 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
“The driver was pulling into her garage. The garage floor had been modified or repaired at some point, and that created a 2” lip that you have to get the tires over. You would pull up, put tires against the lip and accelerate a bit to get over the lip. Then do the same thing with the rear tires. Sometimes, the tires spin. It’s not a good design. This time, as the car pulled over the lip to enter the garage it accelerated and hit the back wall.”
Maruca stated that the driver was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries.
