Driver ejected, transported by Medflight, after serious crash on southeastern Massachusetts highway
A driver was transported by medical helicopter due to injuries sustained in a serious crash on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Wareham Fire Department received a call for a single motor vehicle accident, with ejection, on Route 25.
According to WFD, Chief Kelley, Engine 1 (Shift2) & Rescue 1 responded to the scene. Members on scene assisted Wareham EMS in preparing the patient and securing hazards to the vehicle. Units stood by until the vehicle was removed from the scene by a tow company.
Two fire department members assisted in transporting the patient with EMS to the Tobey Hospital landing zone, where Medflight then flew the patient to Rhode Island Hospital for further care.
The crash is under investigation.
