Dive teams locate body of female after report of possible drowning at Bristol County pond
TAUNTON — Fire Chief Steven Lavigne and Police Chief Edward Walsh report that their departments, as well as mutual aid partners from neighboring communities, responded to a drowning at Bunk Pond on Saturday.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., Taunton Police and firefighters were called to Bunk Pond, north of Interstate 495 on the Taunton/Raynham town line for a report of a possible drowning.
The Raynham Police and Fire Departments, the North Bristol County Dive Team, the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Dive Team, Massachusetts State Police, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, and Massachusetts Environmental Police are among other agencies that assisted with the search.
The body of an adult female was recovered by members of the North Bristol County and SEMLEC Dive Teams.
