Diman Regional releases top 10 seniors for 2026 and their impressive bios
FALL RIVER, WESTPORT, SOMERSET, SWANSEA, MA – Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School has released this year’s top 10 seniors and their bios.
Madison Medeiros- Valedictorian
Diman Regional is pleased to announce Madison Medeiros will graduate as valedictorian of the Class of 2026.
Madison Medeiros, a standout senior in our Business Technology program, has distinguished herself through exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and determination, earning the honor of valedictorian for the Class of 2026. Madison has earned her place among Diman’s top students through a relentless commitment to excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.
This fall, Madison will attend Bentley University, where she plans to pursue both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting. Her ambitious academic path includes a double major in Corporate Finance and Accounting and Professional Selling, reflecting her passion for business and her drive to become a well-rounded leader in the financial sector.
Beyond her impressive academic accomplishments, Madison has been an active member of the Diman community. As a member of the Girls Basketball team, she embraced challenges beyond the classroom and demonstrated her ability to excel in multiple areas. Her time on the court helped her develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience, qualities that have contributed greatly to her success.
Madison has also gained valuable real-world experience through her cooperative education employment at BayCoast Bank, where she serves as a Customer Service Associate. In this role, she has developed strong communication, customer service, and professional skills while balancing the demands of academics, athletics, and work. Her ability to successfully manage these responsibilities speaks volumes about her strong work ethic, maturity, and dedication.
Throughout her high school career, Madison has consistently demonstrated the qualities of a true leader. Her commitment to academic excellence, willingness to challenge herself, and focus on her future goals have made her an outstanding representative of both the Business Technology program and the Diman Regional community.
We congratulate Madison on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success as she begins the next chapter of her educational journey at Bentley University. We are confident that her determination, leadership, and passion for learning will lead to many future accomplishments.
Sophia Lourenco- Salutatorian
Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School is proud to announce Sophia Lourenco as the salutatorian of the Class of 2026.
Sophia Lourenco, a student in the Health Assisting program, has distinguished herself through remarkable scholastic achievement, leadership, and dedication to making a positive impact on others.
Throughout her time at Diman, Sophia has been actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including Varsity Girls Tennis, DECA, SkillsUSA, the National Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society. Her commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom reflects the qualities of a true leader and role model.
Sophia’s passion for healthcare extends beyond her studies. Through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program, and as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Sophia has gained valuable hands-on experience working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), and Step-Down Unit. Through these experiences, she has demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to patient care.
This fall, Sophia will attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where she will pursue a degree in Nursing. With her dedication, work ethic, and passion for helping others, she is well-positioned for success in her future career as a healthcare professional.

Class Rank #3 – Jacob Vazquez
Jacob Vazquez, a student in Diman’s Electrical Technology program, has earned the distinction of being ranked third in the Class of 2026. Through his dedication, hard work, and academic excellence, Jacob has established himself as one of the school’s top-performing students. Following graduation, Jacob will attend the University of Massachusetts to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. His strong technical foundation and commitment to learning have prepared him well for future success in the engineering field.

Class Rank #4 – Karley Kaliff
Karley Kaliff, a student in Diman’s Graphic Communications program, has earned the distinction of being ranked fourth in the Class of 2026. Her academic success reflects years of dedication, leadership, and involvement both inside and outside the classroom.
During her time at Diman, Karley participated in SkillsUSA, DECA, the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, and the International Club. Outside of school, she has been a dedicated dancer at Erin Rae’s School of Dance for the past 11 years. She also gained valuable industry experience through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program working as a printer and press operator at Potters Printing.
This fall, Karley will attend Roger Williams University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Congratulations to Karley on this outstanding achievement and best wishes for continued success in her future endeavors.
Class Rank #5 – Kaitlyn DeSousa
Kaitlyn DeSousa, a student in Diman’s Electricity program, has earned the distinction of being ranked fifth in the Class of 2026. Her academic achievement reflects her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
During her time at Diman, Kaitlyn was an active member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and International Club. Through these organizations, she found meaningful opportunities to volunteer and support those around her. She also gained valuable hands-on experience as an electrical apprentice with ECON Electrical Contractors.
After graduation, Kaitlyn will attend Bristol Community College through the MassTransfer program before continuing to UMass Dartmouth to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. While furthering her education, she plans to continue working in the electrical trade.

William Gagnon, a student in Diman’s Advanced Manufacturing program, has earned the distinction of being ranked sixth in the Class of 2026. His strong academic performance and dedication to his technical studies have contributed to this impressive achievement.
Throughout high school, William developed valuable skills in precision machining and engineering while preparing for a career in the manufacturing industry. He also gained hands-on experience working at his cooperative education placement RectorSeal in tool and die maintenance, further strengthening his technical expertise.
Following graduation, William plans to enter the workforce and continue building his career in the skilled trades. Congratulations to William on this outstanding accomplishment, and best wishes for success in his future endeavors.
Class Rank #7 – Kate Pontes
Kate Pontes, a student in Diman’s Business Technology program, has earned the distinction of being ranked seventh in the Class of 2026. Her excellence in the classroom, leadership among peers, and a commitment to service have made a lasting impact throughout her high school career.
Kate held several leadership positions, including Vice President of Marketing for DECA, Vice President of the National Technical Honor Society, and Secretary of the National Honor Society. She was also an active member of SkillsUSA, earning a Gold Medal at the 2026 State Competition in the Promotional Bulletin Board. In addition, Kate volunteered at numerous school and community events through Key Club and the Student Ambassador program.
Through her internship in Mayor Paul Coogan’s office at Fall River City Hall, Kate gained valuable professional experience managing social media platforms and representing the city at community events and meetings.
This fall, Kate will attend Providence College as a member of the Honors Program, where she plans to major in Accounting. Congratulations to Kate on this outstanding achievement and best wishes for continued success in her future endeavors.

Angelina Ouy, a student in Diman’s Medical Assisting program, has earned the distinction of being ranked eighth in the Class of 2026. Her academic success reflects her dedication to both her studies and her future career in healthcare.
During her time at Diman, Angelina participated in Track and Field, SkillsUSA, BPA, DECA, the National Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society.
Through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program, Angelina gained hands-on experience as a Medical Assistant at Southcoast/Truesdale Internal Medicine, enhancing her clinical skills and solidifying her passion for pursuing a career in medicine.
Following graduation, Angelina plans to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree in Biology on a pre-med track as she works toward a future career in medicine. Congratulations to Angelina on this outstanding achievement and best wishes for continued success.
Class Rank #9- Gabriel Baxter
Gabriel Baxter, currently ranked #9 in the Class of 2026, is enrolled in the Metal Fabrication and Joining Technology program at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. Throughout high school, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence by successfully completing both Advanced Placement (AP) and honors coursework while balancing the rigorous demands of a vocational-technical education.
In addition to his academic achievements, Gabriel has participated in Diman’s Cooperative Education Program, gaining valuable hands-on industry experience and developing professional workplace skills. His dedication to technical excellence is reflected in his outstanding accomplishments through SkillsUSA. In 2025, he earned a Gold Medal at the Massachusetts SkillsUSA State Championships in Sheet Metal and went on to earn a Silver Medal at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, competing against some of the nation’s most talented students in his field.
Beyond academics and career preparation, Gabriel is an active member of the Diman Baseball Team, demonstrating teamwork, leadership, discipline, and a strong work ethic both on and off the field. His combination of academic achievement, technical expertise, competitive success, and extracurricular involvement exemplifies the qualities of a well-rounded and highly motivated student.

Gloria Moniz, a student in Diman’s Health Assisting program, has earned the distinction of being ranked tenth in the Class of 2026. Her academic success, involvement in extracurricular activities, and dedication to personal growth have contributed to this impressive achievement.
Throughout her time at Diman, Gloria participated in Volleyball, Tennis, SkillsUSA, the National Technical Honor Society, and the National Honor Society.
Gloria also gained valuable professional experience working in her cooperative education placement as a Medical Receptionist at Prima CARE, where she developed skills in communication, organization, and patient service within a healthcare setting.
Following graduation, Gloria plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a degree in Nursing. Congratulations to Gloria on this outstanding accomplishment, and best wishes for continued success in her future endeavors.
