Diman Regional announces top 10 students, list of 2021 graduates
Diman Regional has released their list of their top 10 graduating students of 2021.
1. Jessica Costa
Jessica Costa, the daughter of Elda and Jesse Costa of Fall River, MA, is graduating as the number one ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Drafting Program, Jessica has devoted her educational career to academic, professional, and personal successes. As an underclassman, these successes included active participation in honors classes, as well as National Honor Society and Varsity Soccer. As an upperclassman, Jessica was accepted into the Diman-Bristol-UMD CAP Program with a focus upon Engineering. During her time in CAP, Jessica successfully completed a full year of college courses. All of these courses will transfer to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with Jessica as she maintains her place in the Civil Engineering Department.
2. Angus Bonoan
Angus Bonoan, the son of Lisa and Gilbert Bonoan of Westport, MA, is graduating as the number two ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Electricity Program, Angus has excelled in his technical program, while maintaining a rigorous course of studies, thus leading to Angus’s acceptance into the Diman-Bristol-UMD CAP Program with a focus upon Engineering. During his time as a CAP student, Angus was able to successfully complete one full year of college courses.
Additionally, Angus was a member of the National Honor Society, the Diman Golf Team, and the Diman Tennis Team. Angus plans to continue his education as a Business Major at the University of Miami this fall.
3. Corey Cuvellier
Corey Cuvellier, the son of Amy and Matthew Cuvellier from Fall River, MA, is graduating as the number three ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the HVAC/R Program, Corey received the Most Outstanding Freshman Student Award for his excellence in both shop and academics. This success continued into Corey’s senior year when he was awarded the program’s 2021 Outstanding Vocational Student Award. Corey has maintained excellent grades in all of his classes while at Diman, including four dual enrollment classes taken at BCC. This has happened while actively participating in Diman’s Cooperative Education Program. While at Diman, Corey played Varsity Football and was named Captain of the Diman Varsity Football Team. After high school, Corey plans to continue working at his Cooperative Education Placement, Triangle Refrigeration. This work will help Corey earn his refrigeration license while he furthers his education at UMass Dartmouth. Ultimately, Corey aims to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4. William Girard
William Girard, the son of Jeanne and Matthew Girard of Westport, MA, is graduating as the number four ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Electronics Technology Program, William has devoted his educational career to both academic and professional success. Using the skills acquired in his technical program, William participated in SkillsUSA for Robotics, all the while maintaining a rigorous course studies in both honors and Advanced Placement
classes. Additionally, William was a member of the National Honor Society and was named Co-Captain for the Diman Math Team. Following graduation, William plans to continue his education in Electrical Engineering this fall at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
5. Emily DeSousa
Emily DeSousa, the daughter of Lisa and David DeSousa of Swansea, MA, is graduating as the number five ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Health Assisting, Emily has successfully engaged Diman’s Cooperative Education program, while also balancing a rigorous honors academic course load. Additionally, Emily has been involved in rowing while at Diman and was named Captain of the Freshman Basketball Team. A recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, as well as the Chancellor’s Scholarship for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Emily plans to continue her education in the medical field this fall as a Psychology major at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
6. Cameron Pacheco
Cameron Pacheco, the son of Tracey and Chris Pacheco of Fall River, MA, is graduating as the number six ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Electronic Technology Program, Cameron was able to pursue both his academic and vocational ambitions, enrolling in and successfully completing courses in AP, honors, and dual enrollment. In addition to this work, Cameron was a member of Diman’s chapter of SkillsUSA. This fall, Cameron plans to further his education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth as a Computer Science major.
7. Jersey Anne Espinola
Jersey Anne, daughter of Jeffrey and Josephine Espinola of Fall River, MA, is graduating as the number seven ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class 2021. While at Diman, Jersey Anne excelled as an active member of the Diman community, taking part in many community service initiatives. She was on the High Honor roll and demonstrated great discipline by partaking in rigorous honors and Advanced Placement classes throughout all four years of high school. Jersey Anne earned a John and Abigail Adams Scholarship for her academic achievements and was named a Student Ambassador for the school. Jersey Anne also served as a member of the DECA Club, Key Club, and National Honors Society. She participated in the SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership conference her junior and senior year and was the Business Technology Outstanding Vocational Student for 2021. While at Diman, Jersey Anne was employed by First Ford in Fall River, MA as a receptionist through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program. In the fall, Jersey Anne plans to pursue further education and attend Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, majoring in Pre-Medical and Health Sciences.
8. Morgan Mathieu
Morgan Mathieu, the son Brenda-Lee and Bruce Mathieu of Somerset, MA, is graduating as the number eight ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Electronics Technology Program, Morgan has excelled in both his Cooperative Education placement and also in his academic pursuits. While at Diman, Morgan was able to successfully engage in both AP and honors courses. In addition to his professional and academic successes, Morgan has shown great aptitude and professionalism while volunteering for the NAVSEA Internship at Newport, Rhode Island’s Naval Base. Additionally, Morgan has been a member of Diman’s Soccer Team, Table Top Games Club,
and National Honors Society. This fall, Morgan aims to continue his education in the Engineering field at Bristol Community College.
9. Brianna Correia
Brianna Correia, the daughter of Daniel & Michelle Correia of Fall River, MA is graduating as the number nine ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. Brianna is a student who excelled while enrolled in Diman’s Health Assisting Program. Brianna’s dedication to her academic and vocational program ranked her in the top ten of her class during her entire high school career, all the while focusing upon and obtaining her Certified Nursing Assistant license. As a member of the National Honor Society, Brianna dedicated her time to volunteering for the Greater Fall Rivers Relay for Life. She also demonstrated academic excellence by participating in many dual enrollment and honors courses. Brianna plans to further education this fall in the medical field at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in the Nursing Program.
10. Sangeywongse LeMar
Sangeywongse LeMar, the daughter of Violet and Joseph LeMar of Fall River, MA, is graduating as the number ten ranked student in Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Class of 2021. As a student in the Dental Assisting Program, Sangeywongse has devoted her educational career to both academic and professional success. Using the skills acquired in her technical program, Sangeywongse has excelled at her Cooperative Education placement, all the while maintaining a rigorous course studies in honors and dual enrollment, classes. Additionally, Sangeywongse has played for the varsity softball team since freshman year and was a member of the Mass Titans Softball Association. Sangeywongse also actively participated in Key Club, National Honor Society, SkillsUSA, DECA, and the Diman Math Team. Sangeywongse looks forward to finalizing a decision on where she will further her academic career.
