Despite efforts of off-duty nurse, bystander, man dies from motorcycle crash near Route 140, name released
Authorities have released the name of the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash on Saturday.
According to Police Chief Bill McGrath, 63-year-old Dennis F. Moore of Plainville Mass. was operating his motorcycle on Shears Street, toward Franklin St. (Route 140).
Though the cause of the accident remains under investigation, McGrath stated that it’s apparent Moore lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve in the road. The motorcycle left the road, striking several shrubs and a small tree.
As a result, Moore sustained serious injuries and was immediately unresponsive. A nurse who witnessed the accident occur, stopped and provided CPR, assisted shortly thereafter by a civilian, then police officers and firefighters.
Moore was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The accident remains under investigation by the Wrentham Police and Massachusetts State Police.
