A delivery driver got more than he bargained for on Sunday.

According to Detective John Robinson, at approximately 3:30 a.m. on March 31st, Uniformed Officers of the Fall River Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Plymouth Avenue in response to a reported shots fired.

On arrival, Officer Tyler Paquette spoke to a 36-year-old Taunton resident who stated he was employed by an internet food delivery service and was picking up food to deliver to a client. While in line, an unknown male began yelling towards him from the rear seat of another vehicle that he wanted food. The unknown male exited the rear seat of that vehicle, approached the victims’ vehicle, leaned into the victims’ passenger window and said: “I want you to buy me a burger”.

The victim exited his vehicle and told the unknown male to get away from his car. The unknown male began screaming: “I’ll kill you right here”, “I’ll pop him right here, I should pop him”. A second unknown male approached and tried to coax the first male back into the rear seat of their car. The victim stated that he observed the unknown male reach into his waistband, brandish a firearm, and begin firing in the victim’s direction.

The victim stated the unknown male entered the rear seat of his vehicle and the vehicle fled the area, north on Plymouth Avenue. During a canvass of the area, Officers located casing and glass damage to the door of the restaurant caused by a bullet. All evidence found was collected. The victim was only able to describe the suspect as Hispanic with slicked-back hair.
