Dartmouth Police make arrest in car break-in
A local man has been arrested after an area car break-in.
According to Dartmouth Police, on Wednesday, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Dartmouth Police responded to a residence on Walsh Street regarding an active car break.
While checking the area, Officers Colby Cusson and Jorge Silva located a male matching the description of the suspect, walking near the New Bedford line.
After confirming that this male was indeed the individual responsible for the car break, police arrested Joaquim Fortes, 51, of Rodney French Boulevard, New Bedford, and charged him with felony breaking and entering into a vehicle during the nighttime, and larceny of property valued under $1,200.
