Dartmouth Police make arrest after man and woman sent to the hospital after stabbings

DARTMOUTH, MA – Police have arrested a local man who allegedly stabbed multiple people.

According to Dartmouth Police, on Monday, just after 9:00 p.m., Dartmouth Police responded to the Dartmouth Motor Inn for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a 63-year-old New Bedford man had been stabbed in the face during an altercation with another man, subsequently identified as 33-year-old Tory Carter of New Bedford.

While investigating the initial stabbing, officers identified a second victim, a 37-year-old Southbridge, Massachusetts woman, who Carter also allegedly stabbed.

After initial treatment at the scene, both victims were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the incident, Carter was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, assault and battery on a household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and assault and battery on a disabled person over 60 causing serious injury.

    Guaranteed he has a lengthy criminal history and some moron judged allowed him to go multiple times. No accountability for the judges who keep releasing criminals to reoffend. The whole system needs to be overhauled so people can people held accountable.
