Dartmouth carnival instituting chaperone policy for minors after fights at Weymouth event
A local carnival company has instituted a new policy after an incident earlier this month.
A carnival in Weymouth was canceled for the remainder of the weekend after several fights broke out leading to arrests including a juvenile.
Fiesta Shows has instituted a policy that will include this week’s carnival at the Dartmouth Mall.
All children between the ages of 13 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone that is 21+. Parent, guardian or chaperone will be personally responsible for any minor in their care.
Each adult can only chaperone 4 minors at a time. Groups larger than 4 individuals under the age of 18 will require an additional chaperone for every 4 minors.
Proof of age may be required for any guests. Valid types of identification include driver’s license, non-driver ID card, passport, visa or military ID.
This requirement will be enforced in order to both obtain initial entry and also remain at the event.
Parent, guardian or chaperone must remain at the event with the minor.
Failure to comply will result in being denied initial admission or ejection from the event. There are no exceptions. No refunds will be given if you are ejected from the event.
The Spring Carnival kicks off Thursday, May 2nd and will run with the following schedule weather permitting:
Monday – Friday: 6 pm – 10 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 1 pm – 10 pm
Wristband Specials are available online at https://www.fiestashows.com/fs/dartmouth-carnival/. Wristbands are not required to enter the carnival. Individual ride credits are available at the carnival for those not interested in unlimited rides. Gate fee: $3.00
Hours, prices, and rides are subject to change, weather permitting.
