Coventry Police looking for information on malnourished dog
Coventry Police are looking for the public’s help to determine the owner of a mistreated dog that needed to be euthanized.
On October 6th at 10:45 p.m., members of the Coventry Police Department responded to the area of Sherwood Valley Road for an extremely malnourished dog that was found by residents roaming in the streets. It was apparent that the dog was in need of immediate veterinarian attention. Coventry Animal Control responded to the scene and transported the male dog to Ocean State Veterinary Specialist. After careful examination by the veterinarian and given the dogs apparent level of suffering, it was determined that the dog be humanely euthanized.
The Coventry Police and Animal Control are currently investigating. This dog is described as a male middle aged, neutered Pit Bull, gray in color.
Anyone with information about this dog, it’s owner or the incident contact the Coventry Police at 401-826-1100 or email tips@coventrypd.org .
