The community is rallying behind a Massachusetts teen that was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in southeastern Massachusetts last week.

According to family members, on December 14th at approximately 9:00 p.m., 17-year-old Landen Gibson was injured in a motor vehicle crash on Cowell Street in Plainville. Three others were also injured in the crash.

Plainville Police Chief James Floyd via Sgt Scott Gallerani stated that the vehicle went out of control, struck an area of fencing and came to rest in the opposite lane of travel.

As a result of the collision, Landen suffered a severe spinal cord injury that his aunt says will require the need to have a handicap accessible vehicle and a new home that is wheelchair accessible.

Friends of Landen describe him as an all-around great kid who always has a smile on his face.

Family members of the King Philip Regional High School senior are trying to raise money and the spirits of the teen.

We are told that Landen’s mother is a single parent and now out of work to take care of her son which led to the creation of a GoFundMe page that has raised $25,000 as of this writing.

To brighten Landen’s holiday, cards, letters, or words of encouragement can be sent to 85 Cherry Street Wrentham MA 02093. You can also send an email to Rfc_gibson@yahoo.com with any words or pictures that can help Landen through the recovery process.

Landen’s mother thanks everyone for the outpouring of love, kind messages and help and is truly appreciative of everyone’s kindness and compassion from close family and friends to complete strangers.

The crash is still under investigation with no charges or citations issued at this time.
