Community coming together to lend a hand during COVID-19 pandemic
While COVID-19 has caused a lot of stress and anxiety in the Fall River area and throughout the country, others are lending a hand to make the situation a little better.
A New Bedford resident helped make masks for Fall River paramedics.
Melissa Reis, her husband Tony, daughter Miranda, and mother Maria Couto dropped off over 35 handmade masks for the Somerset Fire Department. Not only did they donate the material, but they also took the time to make them.

Tommy Tavares donated about 150 hand sanitizers along with 4500 purell wipes, and hand foam wash.
Lastly the Tiverton Police Department has partnered with Macray’s Seafood II on Stafford Road to donate fish and chip meals for elderly Tiverton residents or Tiverton residents who are currently under self-quarantine. TPD will deliver the meals this Friday. Any Tiverton resident in need is asked to email Officer John Leduc at jleduc@tivertonpoliceri.com.
Are local community continues to show that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
