Community comes together to help after three boys injured, 2 seriously, while riding their bicycles
A community has come together to help three boys who were injured in a crash while riding their bicycles.
In March, the young cyclists were hit by a car shortly after getting out of school in West Warwick. The three boys, aged 12, 12, and 13, were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital by rescue. 2 suffered serious injuries. All three have recovered.
During the crash the 3 bikes were damaged or destroyed.
According to police, the good people at Bike Newport heard about the incident and donated new bikes to each boy, while the IPC unit at Lifespan also donated new helmets.
A woman who stated she was a mother to one of the boys took to social media to express how thankful she was for the community support.
“As the mom to one of those boys, I want to thank everyone for all the support these boys received during this time. It’s amazing that there is still kindness in this world and people who care. We appreciate all the love and support and especially thankful for the new bikes for these boys.”
