CNN releases spot on Fall River’s Mee Sum and the Chow Mein sandwich
Fall River is getting some National publicity and in a good way.
CNN came to see Mee Sum on August 6th for a story on the Chow Mein sandwich. With the story, the landmark restaurant decided to also raise money to help repair St. Anne’s Church by trying to sell 1,000 sandwiches as part of the story, with all proceeds going to the cause.
According to part owner Regina Mark, they well passed their 1,000 goal. The fundraising total for St. Annes Preservation Society after donations and 1,500 Chow Mein sandwiches came out to over $10,000! CNN staff even chipped in to help, according to Mark.
Thanks to Regina, here is the video of the CNN story on Mee Sum and the Chow Mein sandwich.

I grew up on chow mean sandwiches in New Bedford – Fall River’s sister city 12 miles away. Yum
