City of Fall River announces warming and overnight shelter due to frigid temps; possible snowstorm ahead
(FALL RIVER, MA- February 24, 2023)- The City of Fall River has announced plans for warming and overnight shelters as severe cold hits the area this weekend with a possible snowstorm on the horizon.
On Saturday, February 25th, Christ the Rock Church, located at 414 Rock Street in Fall River, will host a warming center from 8am – 4pm for anyone in need of temporary warming. Residents may drop in without calling.
Anyone in need of overnight shelter is urged to call a 24-hour hotline number for shelter needs at 508-676-3528. Street outreach workers from the City of Fall River and Steppingstone Inc have been and will continue to patrol the city to ensure that anyone in need of shelter has access.
The Mayor’s Office also stated that the City also continues to monitor forecasts for a potential storm arriving early next week and are prepared for any potential snowfall.
Early forecasts predict several inches of snow which could possibly result in a parking ban.
