City of Fall River announces residential street sweeper program; here is what you should know
FALL RIVER, MA – Starting in April, the City of Fall River’s Department of Community Maintenance will resume the residential street sweeper program. The goal of the program is to provide curb-to-curb access for City street sweepers in residential areas through the enforcement of regularly scheduled parking restrictions.
Parking is prohibited with signage from 8:00am to 12:00pm on a designated day of the month. The program operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from April 1st until November 1st. Street sweeping, and enforcement of the parking restrictions, will not take place on holidays. Those in violation of the scheduled parking rules will be subject to fines.

Residents can determine whether they live in one of the sectors by referring to the map. Residents can reach the Department of Community Maintenance at 508-324-2584 or the Mayor’s Office at 508-324-2600.
The Mayor’s Office stated that the importance of street sweeping is to prevent City storm drains from clogging with debris and causing flooding during a rain event, as well as to ensure protection of the environment and improve the aesthetic quality of Fall River neighborhoods. The City of Fall River thanks residents in advance for their cooperation.

Very confusing presentation and areas on map that are scheduled to be swept are very difficult to see. This information has been of no help to me. I still don’t know when my street is scheduled to be swept so that I can move my vehicle.
