Children accused of kicking, spitting, throwing rocks at animals at Fall River area farm

A Fall River area farm and their customers are outraged after allegations were released on Thursday.

According to a social media post, visitors at Simcock Farms on Marvel Street in Swansea treated animals poorly and adults supervising the children allowed it to happen.

“We just received a very disturbing message that children were allowed to stand on the tables in the back, kicking, spitting on and throwing rocks at our small goats WITH ADULT SUPERVISION. We have cameras and have a nice picture to see who you are. If you read this, don’t come back. Do not mistake our kindness as weakness allowing the public to enjoy our pets. Teach your children respect! This may sound harsh but at this point I don’t really care. No animal or human for that matter deserves to be treated that way. If anyone sees this behavior or any other abuse, please report it to the front window. It will be handled immediately. Sorry for the rant but this is actually pathetic behavior.😡”

The post also referenced Massachusetts Animal Cruelty Laws.

In Massachusetts, violation of this statute is a felony. Anyone convicted under M.G.L. chapter 272, section 77 is subject to five years imprisonment in state prison, 2.5 years in the house of corrections and/or a fine of up to $2,500.

In addition to reporting animal abuse to the farm, you can also contact Swansea Police.

I hope they released video on social media.
They’re the reason why we can’t have things around here. JERKS!

    I am furious!

Law enforcement must pursue these juvenile offenders and bring them to justice. If you let this slide, the next step will be the abuse of people. A mindset that begins with hurting innocent animals does not stop there.
