Child medflighted, 4 others injured including patient, after crash on Route 140 involving ambulance

Five people were transported to area hospitals, one by MedFlight, following a collision of a Honda Pilot with a Brewster ambulance in Foxboro shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. 

According to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, Foxboro Police, State Police assigned to the nearby Foxboro MSP barracks, a prosecutor assigned to Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s motor vehicle homicide and major crash unit, MSP Crime Scene Services Section and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to the crash, which occurred on Main Street (Route 140) in Foxborough. 

The injured included two Emergency Medical Technicians, both in their mid-20s, who were staffing the ambulance and a patient in his 70s being transported at the time. The Honda was being driven by a 40-year old mother with her elementary school age daughter apparently in the back seat. 

The child was transported by medical evacuation helicopter to the Massachusetts General Hospital to undergo advanced treatment. 

The matter remains under investigation by multiple agencies with no charges in place.
