A local multi-vehicle highway crash Thursday morning resulted in multiple injures

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, at just before 10:30 a.m., the Department was dispatched to a reported rollover crash on Route 140 southbound near mile marker 14.

At the time of the crash, Ambulance 2 and Squad 3 were already committed to a medical emergency requiring advanced life support.

The Chief and one firefighter responded directly to the highway while a recall for supplemental staffing was transmitted.

Car 1 arrived first and found a vehicle tangled in the median cables and a second damaged vehicle in the breakdown lane.

A total of three passengers were evaluated for injuries, with one being transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

The Chief recognized the dedication of the off-duty firefighters who responded back to the station today. Even though the shift was fully staffed today, additional help was needed to manage the incident and maintain coverage for the community.

The crash is under investigation.
