Cape Cod woman accused of stabbing ex-boyfriend to death held without bail, has open immigration case
A Cape Cod woman is being accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend, killing him.
Juscelene Guedes, 29 years old, of Centerville, was arrested Thursday for her role relating to the Wednesday murder of a 33-year-old Renato Chaves in the town of Barnstable.
At just after 7:15 p.m., Barnstable Police received a 911 reporting a crash in the area of TD Bank, 226 Falmouth Rd Route 28 in Hyannis. One of the occupants, Chaves, had an apparent stab wound to his chest. He was transported to CCH in critical condition. At 8:36 p.m., he was determined deceased.
A female passenger in the same vehicle of the victim, Juscelene Guedes, was arrested and charged with Murder and Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit: knife.
According to MassLive, Guedes explained to police through an interpreter that Chaves was her ex-boyfriend and they had gotten into an argument when Chaves pulled out a knife with a yellow handle and kicked her in the thigh. Somehow, she was able to get the knife away from him, and she then nicked his forearm with the knife before stabbing him in the chest. Guedes said she and Chaves had a long history of domestic incidents.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized to send Chaves body back to be buried with family in Brazil.
Guedes was held without bail and according to NBC10 Boston, has an open case with immigration and is originally from Brazil.
