Bus driver locks passenger in luggage compartment on trip to Boston

According to Connecticut State Police, on August 4th at approximately 4:00 p.m., Troop C dispatch received a 911 call from a female stating that she was locked in the luggage compartment of a Peter Pan bus. She stated that the bus was currently traveling east bound on Interstate 84 to Boston, MA. The 911 ping showed that the caller was currently on Interstate 84 traveling east bound in the area of Exit 70 in the town of Willington, CT. Troopers were dispatched to the area in an attempt to intercept the bus. Once police stopped the bus and asked the male bus driver to open the luggage compartment, the female victim was located inside the compartment. The female victim was asked if she needed medical attention to which she refused. She further stated that she had been purposely locked inside by a female driver while attempting to retrieve items from her bag.

The female driver who locked in the victim was still on the bus as a passenger and was identified as Wendy Alberty (D.O.B. 11/7/1969). Upon taking statements from the victim and witnesses, the accused was taken into custody and transported to Troop C for processing.

Alberty is currently being held on a $2000.00 cash or surety bond on the charges of unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace.
