Bristol County Sheriff warns of current scam
The Bristol County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a scam that is going around our area.
In a social media post, the BCSO stated that they have received multiple calls from the public this week about scam calls.
In these calls, scammers are claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office (even using real names they find online of people who work here) and demanding hundreds or thousands of dollars because of missed court dates, jury duty or unpaid fines.
The Sheriff’s Office warns that they will NEVER call and demand money for any reason.
Contact the BCSP or your local police department if you receive these calls or need any help.
