Bristol County organization short on funds to give veterans proper Thanksgiving

We often hear how important it is to take care of our veterans, and rightfully so. Now is your chance to make sure it is a reality in Bristol County and surrounding areas.

According to Assistant Director of the Veterans Association of Bristol County Kim Wagner, the need is even greater this year than in year’s past.

“We’re looking at between 450-550 food pantries (veterans supplied food) in this coming month since we’re doing just about 400 now on a regular basis.”

In prior years, VABC received gift cards through the Greater Boston Food Bank and utilized them for the holidays, but not this year.

Wagner is hoping the public can help chip in with $10-20 gift cards for Thanksgiving so veterans can buy turkeys as the VABC does not have room to store the frozen birds on site.

“We have all the other things that go with the dinners and their monthly food pantry. We try to start giving (the gift cards) next week through the week of Thanksgiving.”

“We see over 650 veterans a month visiting the center for the coffee social every morning, daily lunches and our rescue food pantry which is available all month”, Wagner stated. VABC also puts on events and trips for vets and has a clothing pantry on site.

Veterans in need has been constantly increasing, according to Wagner.

“Over 20 new Veterans have signed up for our services every month and I don’t see it going down.”

Wagner stated that some amazing businesses and companies donate to help with weekly food donations, but prices continue going up.

If you chose to donate, a receipt will be given, and your donation is tax deductible as the VABC is a non-profit. You can also give online at https://thevabc.org/donate/. A processing fee is applied.

The Bristol County Veterans Association is located at 755 Pine Street in Fall River.

200 Billion to Ukraine for Democracy. Skip a few meals veterans in the name of Proxy Wars. Be thankful that Zelensky and his organized group of criminals including many American political families are keeping Europe safe from the pesky Russians.

Iran money? Who gave money that Iran can actually spend? You mean that money that they don’t even control that only goes for humanitarian aid? Yeah they can’t touch that money but keep on telling that lie over and over and over and over and over and over and over again till it becomes a truth just like the Nazi you are! Yeah I understand why you wouldn’t want to support Ukraine against the Nazi of our time because you are one!
