The 42-year-old Attleboro man charged last week with robbing and assaulting an elderly Attleboro woman, who later died in a house fire on November 18, 2022, will also be charged this morning with her murder and the arson of her home, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

Adam Rollins will likely be arraigned today in Attleboro District Court on the two new charges. He was previously arraigned last Tuesday on a charge of Burglary With Assault and his case was scheduled for a dangerousness hearing today. Due to the filing of the new charges, that dangerousness hearing will no longer take place.

After a months-long investigation, the defendant was arrested in Weymouth last Sunday afternoon and was arraigned last Tuesday in Attleboro District Court on a charge of Burglary With Assault. He is currently held in jail.

The extensive investigation was conducted by members of the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit assigned to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn’s office, the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Attleboro Police Department.

An early-morning fire at an Attleboro home on November 18th claimed the life of 80-year-old Judith Henriques, who was also the victim of the burglary with assault.

The fire at 30 Division Street was reported at approximately 1:00 a.m.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation by the Attleboro Fire Department, Attleboro Police Department, and State Police assigned to the offices of the State Fire Marshal and the Bristol County District Attorney.

The deceased was discovered inside the home by firefighters shortly after they extinguished the blaze.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jason Mohan.
