Bristol County DA’s State Police Detective Unit seized more than a kilo of fentanyl, cocaine, pills, guns in Fall River

Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn’s State Police Detective Unit seized more than a kilo of fentanyl Thursday in Fall River, along with large quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, illegal guns and other narcotics.

Investigators from the Drug Task Force section of DA Quinn’s state police unit were joined by officials from Newport, RI Police, Middletown, RI Police and the Massachusetts State Police STOP Team when they executed a search warrant at the County Street residence of 33-year-old Raymond Cash.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. Thursday, the team of investigators observed Cash exit his residence to make a phone call on his front porch. Police immediately moved in and detained Cash before then executing the search warrant at his residence.

In total, investigators seized over a kilogram of suspected fentanyl, approximately 350 grams of suspected powder cocaine, approximately 25 grams of suspected crack cocaine, hundreds of round blue pills suspected to contain fentanyl, five jars of suspected marijuana, two black handguns, another black handgun without a slide assembly, a handgun silencer, an extended magazine, ammunition, a hydraulic drug press, other materials used in the processing, packaging, and illegal distribution of drugs; and over $13,000.

The arrest and narcotics seizures came as a result of a long-term undercover investigation.

Cash was arraigned on Friday in Fall River District Court on charges of Trafficking Fentanyl 200 grams or more, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Silencer, Distribution of Marijuana and Resisting Arrest. On Monday, after a hearing, the Court found Cash to be a danger and held him without bail. His next court appearance is due in October.

“This investigation and arraignment involving a large-scale drug dealer is an example of the importance of the cooperative efforts with our law enforcement partners; including Attorney General Maura Healy’s Office, with whom we’ve partnered effectively with in the past,” District Attorney Quinn said. “ I am pleased the court found this defendant to be a danger and held him without bail for trafficking in large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine, which wreak havoc in our communities.”

Attorney General Maura Healy’s office, Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson’s department, Dartmouth Police and DEA agents from the Providence, RI field office also assisted in the investigation.
