Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced a pedestrian fatality in North Attleboro.
The pedestrian had been struck by a motorcycle on Route 1 at the intersection of E. Washington Street and Rodney Road on Tuesday, at just after 5:00 p.m.
North Attleboro Police and EMS arrived at the intersection after receiving a 911 call and located the pedestrian in the middle of the roadway with significant injury. The pedestrian was being tended to by a civilian. The pedestrian, later identified as 74-year-old Frank Yakimowsky of North Attleboro, was transported via med flight to Rhode Island Hospital. Yakimowsky was pronounced deceased a few hours after arrival.
On scene, police located an orange Honda CBR motorcycle one block north of the crash site. The motorcycle operator was located and transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the North Attleboro Police Department.
