The Bristol Community College Women’s Soccer team is the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XXI Champions! Their 4-0 win against Holyoke Community College, on Sunday, October 30, marks Bristol’s first women’s athletic team to win a regional championship and compete in a national tournament.
The Bayhawks will travel to Herkimer College, in New York, to compete in the NJCAA Division III Women’s Soccer National Championship, on Friday, Nov.11 and Saturday, Nov. 12, in hope of advancing to the Sunday, Nov.13 championship match. The women’s soccer team is led by Captains, Jillian Swass, from Tiverton, R.I. and Jenna Cambria, from Kingstown, Mass. and Coach Jason Tassinari, who is in his third season with the team.
“We are building the foundation of a successful women’s soccer program and it is in large part to the great athletes that are great students,” said Jason Tassinari, Women’s Soccer Coach, Bristol Community College. “I am proud of our success and athletes, who understand the importance of academics and the fundamentals of teamwork.”
