Bridgewater mom looking for cards for ailing daughter
A Bridgewater mom is looking for the public’s help to make her daughter’s hospital stay a little brighter.
Mary Alice Tryda is 8 years old. She has had almost as many major surgeries as her age.
Mary Alice has battled dozens of health issues since before she was born. Doctors and specialists gave her a zero percent chance of survival once she arrived. She defied the odds, however, and continues to try and live the life of a normal child despite her health setbacks. It was discovered that Mary Alice has Brittle Cornea Syndrome. Her condition is very rare and incurable, but it is treatable.
Mary Alice has her seventh major surgery scheduled for late August at Boston Children’s Hospital which is five days after her birthday. Her mother Kelly is hoping to shower her daughter with get well/birthday cards and gifts from all over the world when she wakes up from surgery.
