Bridge work on Route 6 to take place for two months
SWANSEA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing that it will be conducting structural repairs to the Route 6 Bridge over Interstate 195 in Swansea. The work will begin on Monday, March 29, and is anticipated to be completed in two months. Work will take place weekly, from Monday through Friday, during daytime hours from 7 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.
The work will require the closure of one lane of traffic on Route 6 while the work is conducted. Standard traffic control measures will be utilized including temporary lane closures, construction signs, message and arrow boards, and police details. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times in both directions.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
