Body of man who jumped from Longfellow Bridge has been recovered
The body of a man, who jumped off of a bridge in Massachusetts this morning, has been recovered.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 9 a.m. Massachusetts State Police received a report that a person had jumped off the Longfellow Bridge into the Charles River, toward the Cambridge side.
Patrols from State Police-Boston, the State Police Marine Unit and Dive Team, and Cambridge firefighters responded to the scene.
At 10:21 a.m. Cambridge Fire Department divers recovered the body of a 23-year-old male from Charles River, upriver from the Longfellow Bridge, toward the Cambridge side.
Evidence collected thus far by the State Police Detective Unit for Middlesex Count indicates the man’s death is a suicide, according to Procopio.
No further information is being released due to the nature of the incident.
