A popular local foodie has been identified as the male that was found deceased earlier this week in a local river.

According to Lt. Christopher Perreault, at approximately 1:15 p.m., on Monday, the Warren Police Department received a call for a report of an unresponsive individual in the Warren River by the shoreline. Upon officers responding to the area behind the Warren town docks, a white male in his 50’s was located and confirmed to be deceased. With the assistance of the Warren Fire Department, the male was recovered.

The Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and later responded to the scene and took custody of the decedent.

The victim has been identified as 56-year-old William Dallaire of Warren.

Dallaire worked at Jack’s Family Restaurant in Warren. Also known as “The Food Guy RI”, he created a social media group of the same name that was all about eateries in the New England area.

Group members expressed their heartbreak and condolences once learning of Dallaire’s passing.

In addition to his love of food, those who knew Dallaire described him as a good soul, and a great friend who loved his pets and loved ones.

Dallaire’s death is not believed to be suspicious, but the incident is still under investigation.
