Almost 31 years later, authorities are still looking for information concerning the murder of a Berkley, MA man.

According to Massachusetts State Police, on August 22, 1991, the body of Howard Ferrini was found inside of his blue Cadillac that was parked at Logan Airport in Boston. Howard Ferrini was living in Berkley and had been missing for several days before his body was discovered.

After nearly 30 years, in March of 2021, it became known that Kevin Hanrahan was directly involved in the murder of Howard Ferrini. Police say that Kevin Hanrahan was a notorious, violent criminal known to be a freelance enforcer for the Patriarca crime family in Providence, as well as a criminal associate of Frank “Cadillac’” Salemme and Gordon O’Brien of Taunton. Hanrahan was shot to death in Providence in 1992.

Massachusetts State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding any other information that would help identify anyone else who participated or assisted in the killing.

Bristol District Attorney Tom Quinn stated that “these are some of the worst cases we see, and many families have waited for years hoping for answers and some measure of justice. It is never too late to do the right thing. We hope that anyone with information will finally decide to break that silence by coming forward.”

If you have any information on Howard Ferrini’s murder, you can call Massachusetts State Police Lt. Ann Marie Robertson at 508-961-1918 or the Massachusetts State Police Unresolved Cases Tip Line at 855-MA-SOLVE.
