Authorities release names of two suspects captured and charged after reported vehicle theft with toddler in the back seat
Police have released more details concerning an Amber Alert that was issued on Monday.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at 8:19 p.m., Lawrence Police advised MSP that a silver 2011 Honda Pilot was stolen from South Broadway Street in Lawrence with a 22-month-old female toddler named Emma Buth in the back seat.
Emma was later dropped off at a Lawrence Hospital. Two suspects were then arrested after State Troopers and Chelmsford Police Officers pursued the stolen Honda Pilot on Route 495. They stopped the stolen vehicle on Route 495 South, north of Route 290, in Berlin. The detainees were transported to Lawrence PD.
Adam Maksou, 36, of Methuen MA has been charged with Kidnapping, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Reckless Endangerment of a Child.
Jamie (O’Neil) Garrity, 35, of Methuen MA has been charged with Kidnapping, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Providing a False Name at Booking.
Both will be arraigned later today in Lawrence District Court.
