Authorities looking for armed and dangerous suspect in Brockton murder, second suspect arrested

Authorities are looking for an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in a Brockton murder.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, On Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at approximately 7:35 p.m., the Brockton Police Shotspotter notification system reported multiple rounds fired in the area of 94 Belmont Avenue in Brockton. Upon arrival, officers found Manuel Duarte, 25, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. Duarte was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

As a result of the ongoing, active investigation, Friday, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office sought and obtained two arrest warrants charging Takari Elliot, 29, and Marvin Veiga, 32, with Murder. With the assistance of Brockton Police, Massachusetts State Police located Elliot in Brockton yesterday and he was placed under arrest.

Massachusetts State Police along with Brockton Police continue to actively search for Veiga, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, and has a history of violent crimes. Veiga has tattoos about his face and neck, and is believed to be traveling in a newer model silver SUV bearing an out-of-state license.
