Amazon driver in Brockton, assaulted, has vehicle stolen with packages inside
An Amazon delivery driver was assaulted and then had his truck stolen Thursday.
According to Darren Duarte of the Brockton Police Department, Brockton Police responded to 363 Ash Street after receiving a call at 7:18 p.m. from a delivery driver who reported his truck stolen.
The 53-year-old Amazon Truck Driver was reportedly walking back to his truck from making a delivery when he encountered a white or Hispanic man in his 40’s.
The driver told police he greeted the individual, but the suspect grabbed him by the arm, tossed him to the ground, and took off in the truck.
Duarte stated that the victim had Amazon use GPS to give police the truck’s location, which was found undamaged near 804 Main Street.
The driver reported that five packages were missing before he drove away in the truck.
According to Duarte, the suspect was not armed.
The case remains under investigation by Brockton Police.
