A motorcycle rider was injured and is facing several charges after a crash on Monday.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 9:00 p.m., units were dispatched to the intersection of Warren Street and Plymouth Avenue for a collision between a Honda motorcycle and a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Upon arrival, Officer Robson Pires was advised that the Dodge Ram was attempting to turn South onto Plymouth Avenue from Warren Street. As he attempted to do so, the left side of his vehicle was struck by the Honda motorcycle.

The operator of the Dodge Ram was uninjured in the collision. The operator of the Honda motorcycle sustained a significant leg injury and was transported to an area hospital for medical attention.

During his investigation, Officer Pires discovered that prior to the arrival of police, the operator of the motorcycle discarded an item nearby. Further investigation led to the discovery of a black Taurus G2C 9mm firearm.

He’ll get a slap on the wrist by a liberal judge. Should carry a huge penalty for the firearm without a license.

Massachusetts law imposes a mandatory minimum sentence of 18 months in jail or prison for illegally carrying a firearm, even for a first offense. A minimum sentence must be served day-for-day and cannot be suspended.

If you were carrying a loaded firearm without a license, you may be sentenced to an additional 2.5 years in prison after the 18-month mandatory minimum.
