After social media reports stated gun was found in Fall River school, police say it was something else
Despite social media reports, Fall River Police say it wasn’t a firearm that was found at a school in the city.
A parent of a student at Kuss Middle School took to social media stating that a gun was found in the school.
“My youngest child goes to Kuss Middle School. She just said that the day after the Uvalde School shooting that a student had brought a gun to school and showed several of his friends. Had a plan of shooting the students while transferring from lunch. My child would have been within line of sight not just my baby but so many babies would have been harmed. This was overheard by a teacher just before lunch started and was reported. The gun was found in his backpack and was taken by police. I’m outraged because no one had contacted any of the parents about this! Not Kuss, not the school dept Noone! So, if my child never said anything then we would have never known that it would have been potentially the last day I would have seen my daughter. This is completely unacceptable, and I hope this never happens again! Now sending my child to school every day so she can have a brighter education becomes just pure panic and fear that something could happen, and I wouldn’t be there to protect her. I know this is every parent’s worst nightmare to happen. This city needs to do better and be better for the children in this city. I just want all parents that have children in Kuss know.”
According to Fall River Police, however, a gun isn’t what was found.
Detective Moses Pereira told Fall River Reporter that there was no incident involving a firearm. Nor any information involving a possible threat at the school.
School officials did locate a stun gun which was brought onto school grounds by a student. Pereira stated that the School Resource Officer was notified and is handling the investigation.

Maybe it was just a cigarette lighter that looked like a gun.
