Active-duty 43-year-old Rhode Island police officer dies suddenly
An active-duty Rhode Island police officer died suddenly late last week.
According to friends and family, 43-year-old Cranston Police Officer Wayne Russell Jr. of Pascoag, RI passed away on Friday.
Russell received several honors for his work with Cranston PD. He is being remembered as a selfless and caring man who would be there for anyone.
A cause of death is not being released.
Russell’s funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10 AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Following the service, there will be a funeral procession to Swan Point Crematory, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, for committal service. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM.
