Act of kindness from Somerset police officer gets recognition from community
A gesture by a local police officer is garnering praise from the community.
While out on patrol driving down Riverside Avenue, Det. Sergeant Nick Davidson came across a woman who had fallen and dropped her coffee. Fortunately, she was not hurt, and he was able to assist her into her house. He left only to return a short time later with another cup of coffee! He did this for no other reason than being kind.
Somerset PD wanted to make sure that he was acknowledged.
“So often we hear all the negative that officers do but when it comes to positive it’s not talked about as much. The reason being, they don’t do it for the recognition. Sgt Davidson went above and beyond not because he wanted to be told great job or to get his picture on Facebook. He did it because, like most police officers everywhere, he is a good person.”
“He didn’t expect all this attention but since he deserves every ounce of it, we want to acknowledge it and really say how proud we are to have him as a member of our department.”
Davidson refused to pose alone for the picture because he says he didn’t do anything that any other Somerset Police Officer would do.
