A Fall River school is going fully remote for 10 days following increase in cases of COVID-19
A Fall River school has decided to, temporarily, go fully remote.
A parent at Stone K-12 Day School, located at 276 Maple Street, had informed us that 10-15 teachers wanted to go in to teach and were told not to for their safety.
After receiving this information, we contacted Stone School Principal MaryEllen Shaw.
“We have flipped Stone to remote learning for 10 days as we have seen an increase in positive cases among staff and students. Our plan is to clean the facility and return to in person learning on Tuesday January 26.”
According to the Mayor’s Office, 9,997 total cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Fall River as of Friday and the coronavirus has contributed to 253 deaths.
A January 14th report by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health stated that Fall River has a 153.6 Average Daily COVID-19 Incident Rate per 100,000 people (Last 14 days) which is 7th in the state.
